Our Conflict-Free Diamond Policy
In compliance with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS), JR Dunn does everything in its power to ensure that the diamonds you purchase are conflict free. In adhering to the regulations of the Kimberley Process, J.R. Dunn is a participating company that assists in reducing the traffic of conflict diamonds – rough diamonds used by insurgent groups to fund their wars against government regimes. This is to maintain the integrity of our company as well as sustain the trust of our valued customers.
In agreeing to the regulations of the Kimberley Process, J.R. Dunn is a part of a cooperative movement of governments, industries, and organizations striving to eliminate any illegal associations attached to diamond purchasing. Since 2003, we have stringently aligned our diamond policy to agree with the KPCS by implementing a program of self-regulation. We demand that our vendors remain in compliance with these regulations, therefore ensuring that your purchase is always conflict-free.
J.R. Dunn Jewelers holds itself accountable for the integrity of its diamonds, and to ensure our credibility as well as your trust, we have taken the liberty of printing the following statement on our purchase orders:
“The Diamonds herein have been purchased from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with UN resolutions. The seller hereby guarantees that these diamonds are conflict free, based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by the supplier of these diamonds.”
It is vital to ensure our customers that we as a company purchase our diamonds from the most legitimate sources in compliance with the KPCS, and as a result, we fully give our support to any policy that guarantees the purchase of diamonds through appropriate sources. We believe that diamonds are an expression of pleasure and appreciation and should never be linked to any form of conflict whatsoever.
