It is available in nine different strap options from pink or white calfskin to black ceramic. The hot new model retails beginning at $1,200 and is expected to launch around late February 2018. The Differences. Tag Heuer Connected 41mm vs the Connected 45mm The new model, Tag Heuer Connected Modular 41, is designed for a smaller wrist with a diameter of 41mm. The 41mm model will also feature an improved AMOLED screen, which not only makes it easier to view in bright sunlight but also is better for the battery life. Its price point is slightly lower than the 45mm, making it a great introductory smartwatch for women or men. What is the same? Just like the 45mm, the 41 will also feature GPS and NFC capabilities and is compatible with Android 4.3+ or iOS 9+. It also features a scratch-resistant sapphire glass screen and is water resistant up to 50 meters. The charging functionality will also remain the same, aligning with the bottom of the watch. Made for Legends: John Hardy Celebrating Heritage and Powerful Women
Powerful, dramatic & inspiring; three words that perfectly describe the new John Hardy Made for Legends campaign. The strength of their heritage is at John Hardy’s core, not only in their artistic designs but also in their involvement with the Balinese community where the brand was founded. John Hardy Made for Legends celebrates powerful women who are true legends, Oscar winning actress Julianne Moore and British model Adwoa Aboah. The two women at the center of the campaign embody the raw power and beauty of women which is also reflected in the Classic Chain, Naga, and Modern Chain jewelry collections they are wearing. Hollie Bonneville Barden joined as the new, young creative director earlier last year, drawing her creative inspiration from the raw power of their rich heritage. As her first collection debuts this fall, the brand embraces the timeless beauty of the Classic Chain collection, reinvents the Naga collection with symbols of elemental force in nature, and pushes forward to the future with the polished Modern Chain collection. Each collection is symbolic of John Hardy’s roots. Classic Chain representing harmony, Naga for protection, and Modern Chain as a symbol of human bond and community.

The Do’s and Dont’s of Showering with Jewelry
Can you wear diamond studs or a diamond ring in the shower? You should remove your diamond studs or other diamond jewelry prior to showering. When diamonds are exposed to natural oils, certain soaps, and lotions, it can leave a film over the diamond resulting in less brilliance and sparkle. To ensure your diamonds remain as sparkly as the day you got them, it is best practice to remove them and store them in a safe place before showering. Can you wear sterling silver jewelry in the shower? Though showering with sterling silver jewelry on should not harm the metal, there is a good chance that it could induce tarnishing. Waters that contain chlorine, salts, or harsh chemicals will affect the look of your sterling silver. We encourage our customers to remove your sterling silver before showering. Can you wear gold in the shower? Wearing solid gold jewelry, white gold or yellow gold, in the shower will not harm the metal itself, however it can reduce the shine therefore it is not recommended. Showering with gold plated jewelry can eventually cause the gold layer to wear off completely, therefore you should definitely refrain from doing so. Can you wear platinum in the shower? A similar scenario to gold, you should refrain from wearing your platinum jewelry in the shower as it will reduce its shine and luster. Water itself will not harm the platinum, but it well affect the overall look of it down the road. Can I wear my watch in the shower? Though a lot of watches and Swiss timepieces are known to be water resistant wearing your watch in the shower is not generally recommended if you don’t have a screw down crown or if the watch hasn’t been pressure tested after a recent service. For the watches that do have a screw down crown be sure it is finger tight against the case before getting it wet and don’t press any of the buttons if it is a chronograph while you are in the shower or bath. Water won’t usually hurt the outer case of the watch (unless it is plated or made from less than surgical grade stainless steel) but over time, soaps, shampoos, and oils and dirt residue can affect the little intricacies in the watch bracelet potentially wearing it out sooner. We advise against wearing your watches in the shower. Can I wear my pearls in the shower? Pearls are incredibly delicate products of nature. This being so, a pearl’s lustrous surface can easily be affected by any chemicals, oils, soaps, shampoos, cosmetics, and alkaline environments. As a strict guideline, you should never shower with your pearls on and always wipe them gently after wearing with a soft cloth. All in all, you should remove your jewelry and timepieces before showering to prolong the life and luster of your investment. If you accidentally expose your jewelry to soaps and oils in the shower, quickly rinse it off with plain water and dry thoroughly yet gently with a soft cloth. We recommend designating a place that is conveniently near or in your bathroom away from any drains for safe keeping while bathing. To prevent the risk of breakage, carefully remove your jewelry over a soft surface. Pay special care to this process while traveling, as valuable pieces can often be forgotten when you are busy and out of your normal routine. Follow these easy guidelines to ensure your jewelry and timepieces look as lustrous as the day they you got them!

John Hardy's Plant Bamboo Initiative Reaches One Million
John Hardy is celebrating their one-millionth bamboo planted in Bali, Indonesia, an incredible accomplishment after ten years of the ‘Wear Bamboo. Plant Bamboo’ initiative. The initiative was launched ten years ago, planting bamboo seedlings for each piece of the John Hardy Bamboo Collection sold. Through this and their other ventures, they have perfected the balance of sustainability and luxury. Not only does bamboo play a significant socio-economic role in the community where the artisans live and craft the pieces, but also contributes to pure air, water and forest conservation. Bamboo is known for its intricate root system, playing a huge roll in the health of their ecosystem. The importance of being environmentally conscious has been and is still a crucial part of the brand. The John Hardy Bamboo Collection features earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings resembling the lines and curvature of a bamboo plant. Available in yellow gold and sterling silver, certain pieces are accented with black sapphire and diamond details. On the interior of each piece of the collection is an engraved number, signifying how many bamboo seedlings will be planted for that purchase. The more expensive of a piece you purchase, the more bamboo seedlings are planted.

Most Popular Engagement Rings as New Styles Emerge in 2018
Three Stone Rings As we transition into the new year, the hot engagement ring trend of 2018 will be three stone rings. One larger diamond is framed by two smaller gemstones on each side, framing the center diamond and results in the illusion of a larger center diamond. The style was very classic in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, now returning to the engagement ring trends stronger than ever. The three stones have been known to be a symbolic representation of the couple’s past, present, and future--making it a very meaningful option for an engagement ring. We know this style will stand strong throughout 2018, especially as Prince Harry recently proposed to American actress Meghan Markle with a stunning custom three stone engagement ring featuring a cushion cut diamond in the center. Three stone engagement rings are classic, meaningful, and elegant—a beautiful style sure to leave her sparkling with delight. Featured Ring: A. Jaffe Three Stone Quilted French Pavé Engagement Ring Trends of popular engagement rings fluctuate over the years as new styles emerge. Here are six hot engagement trends among the modern-day bride to consider when deciding which style best suits you. Split Shank Engagement rings with split shanks give a fashion-forward and architectural feel to an otherwise traditional solitaire or pavé setting. Most split shank engagement rings begin touching, moving towards a larger space where they meet the diamond, as seen below. You can also opt for the inverse, with the gap beginning larger on the east and west points, narrowing and meeting together at the diamond for a very unique look. Either way, the dividing of the shank gives the illusion of two bands, which also means more sparkle! Featured Ring: Tacori HT2548RD Petite Crescent Split Shank Round Bloom Engagement Setting East-West Settings We’ve been talking a lot about this hot trend—east-west engagement rings are a unique addition to the bridal market. They showcase the diamond being horizontal in orientation, rather than the more traditional vertical setting. This placement of the diamond not only elongates the finger, but also creates the illusion of a larger stone. An east-west setting is the perfect choice for the modern bride who wants something unique and elegant. Geometric Silhouettes Adding a geometric shaped halo around your center round or oval diamond is a fashion forward and modern twist on the traditional halo setting. Designers like Karl Lagerfeld have a variety of geometric profiles, such as hexagons, asymmetrical points, and knife edge details. These unique halo silhouettes are appealing as they often make the center diamond appear larger. Featured Ring: Karl Lagerfeld Kollection #2 Geometric Halo Knife Edge Diamond Engagement Ring Setting Rose Gold There is no doubt of the rise in popularity of rose gold engagement rings, and it is likely to be a trend that stays around for a while. Rose gold eludes a feel of romanticism and uniqueness for someone looking for a more vintage-inspired engagement ring. The blush undertones compliment various cool or warm skin tones and proves to be more versatile than gold or silver. It is also surprisingly more durable than two of its alternatives, yellow gold and white gold, making it a great choice for an engagement ring you will be wearing regularly. However, it is not quite as durable as platinum. Tacori offers a ‘Pretty in Pink’ collection of various rose gold styled engagement rings. For those who don’t want to fully commit to a rose gold ring but still love the hue, Verragio rings often feature a rose gold accent on the interior of the ring as a hidden surprise. Featured Ring: Tacori Pretty In Pink HT2550OV Engagement Setting Baguettes Baguette diamond accents framing a center diamond lend to a unique art deco feel, appealing to brides looking for something different yet classic. There is also an increasing popularity of baguettes being used as the solitaire diamond in an east to west placement (horizontal rather than vertical), appealing to more minimalistic brides. Baguette diamonds offer endless opportunities to make an engagement ring unique and look stunning when paired with other shapes. Featured Ring: Ritani Tapered Baguette Diamond Engagement Mounting Hidden Details Intricate details visible from the side view of the ring are increasingly popular and will sparkle from all angles. Tacori has perfected this aspect of engagement rings, with a devotion to deliver beauty from every angle. Verragio engagement rings also showcase intricate details with scrolling along the inside for a very romantic and feminine feel. Featured Ring: Tacori HT2522CU Blooming Beauties Engagement Ring Setting Elongating Shapes Pear, marquise, and oval shaped diamonds are making a huge comeback as a chic alternative to the ever-popular round. The flattering silhouettes elongate the finger and often make the carat size appear bigger than it actually is. Not only do they appear larger in a carat to carat comparison with a round diamond, but they also typically cost less. Combining the traditional, rounded edges with a sharp point on pear and marquise diamonds lend to its more modern appeal. Featured Ring: White Gold Halo Pear Engagement Mounting

What Makes Henri Daussi Unique: Q&A with Jeff Daussi Loots
Henri Daussi, headquartered in the heart of New York City, was founded over 60 years ago in Antwerp, Belgium by Henri Daussi Loots, cutting some of the world’s most beautiful and brilliant diamonds. We, at J.R. Dunn Jewelers, are proud to introduce the Henri Daussi line to our family representing incredible craftsmanship and design in each and every piece. One June afternoon, we sat down with Jeff Loots, grandson of the founder of the company who currently carries on the family legacy to get to know the brand on a more intimate level. J.R.D: What are three words that embody a Henri Daussi ring? J.L: Classic. Value. Brilliance. J.R.D: How would you describe the Henri Daussi persona? J.L: Because we have such a large selection, we don’t have a specific type of person who represents the brand. From first time engagement rings to larger, more elaborate anniversary rings; every ring has a person out there. It’s amazing. You can look at every ring in the store and there will always be that one that is just meant to be. J.R.D: What sets your rings apart from other engagement rings in the market? J.L: We source a different type of rough diamond and cut it in a way to appear a lot larger but also doesn’t lose its brilliance. Others have tried to replicate it but just kill it. We hand make the setting around each center stone so that it fits perfectly around the natural curves. J.R.D: From your introduction to our team, it seems like customer service is incredibly important to the company’s values. J.L.: Absolutely. We don’t work with everyone, so we make sure we get the perfect piece. It’s personal, it’s like a relationship. J.R.D: Can you tell us a little about the heritage and origins of Henri Daussi? J.L.: My grandfather, Henri Daussi, was always an incredible diamond cutter. It’s a family business... I learned from my father who learned from his father. My grandfather was the first person to be able to actually cut into a diamond; from horseheads, butterflies, to the incredibly classic heart shaped diamond. Our jewelry becomes a part of people’s lives, an heirloom passed down for generations to come. We aren’t a corporation, we are a family. “Our goal is to make everything amazing to begin with.” - Jeff Loots The Henri Daussi collection is as elevated in beauty as it is in integrity and service. From their signature cushion cut to classic brilliant, you are sure to find something elegant and unique. Not only do they offer stunning diamonds and engagement ring settings, but also carry wedding bands for both men and women. We invite you to join us in our showroom or online shop and discover the new collection yourself. Jim Dunn and Jeff Loots

The Top 10 Jewelry Styles and Trends You Need to Know
Layer & Stack When it comes to layering and stacking pieces, the more the merrier! Combining stacks of rings, bracelets, necklaces, and even earrings are increasingly sought after. This look is not only for women, but also wears well for men. Incorporate dainty pieces among bolder bangles, having fun with textural differences for a flawless, on-trend look. Traditionally more of a fashion jewelry look, stacking is more recently becoming a bridal look as well. Photo Credit @zoechiccojewelry Two-in-one rings are a great option for those who love the layered look, but have trouble putting pieces together. There is increasing popularity for pieces that look to be two separate items, but are actually joined together. Curb Links Curb links feature tiny indentations on each link, allowing the piece to lay nicely on the skin. The addition of diamond pavé details to curb link chains are a stunning detail that is both incredibly eye catching and captivating. Play with this look and layer it with other colored curb links or bangles for a glamorous, on-trend look. Y Necklaces & Chokers A dominant pairing for layering is the combination of y-necklaces and chokers. The contrast of a choker lying high on the neck, transitioning to a y-necklace down the décolletage area is both stunning and contemporary. The fluidity of layering these pieces together is very feminine and flirty—a look you and your significant other are sure to love! Photo Credit @lanajewelry East-West Engagement Rings The engagement ring trend dominating the show, without a doubt, were east-west engagement rings. From Tacori’s directionally chic collection to A. Jaffe’s innovative Pirouette ring, designers are creating pieces for all styles and preferences. Learn more about this stunning, modern trend here. Bypass Rings A classic style that is getting a modern, new look—bypass rings feature the band wrapping around your finger with each end passing by each other on top. A popular style of these by-pass rings features the ends being two, larger stones but also can be several stones creating the illusion of that layered look. Celestial Inspired A unique, playful trend in jewelry that we are loving feature shapes of moons, stars, and suns. Encrusting these celestial shapes in diamonds and gemstones creates an elevated, yet whimsical look. Get a little creative and incorporate these celestial pieces into your layered look, from stacking rings to necklaces. Photo Credit @EFCollection Tassels Originating in home design and accents, tassels are making a transition into the jewelry world. Not only are they ornamental and alluring, but also incredibly complementary toward natural movements. More elevated tassel styles feature metal chains often accented with diamonds and other gemstones. Other designs go for a more fun, fashion look with richly colored beading and silk threads. Bolo Bracelets Feminine and dainty, bolo bracelets are adjustable and lay low on the wrist closest to your hand. Some feature pave diamond accents and others offer a simplistic look with plain metals. They not only look great on their own, but also can be layered among bold bangles for contrast. Geometric Shapes A popular trend continuing from last year, geometric shapes are still playing a huge role in the industry. From hexagonal halos on engagement rings to triangular accented fashion jewelry, geometric shapes make for a modern, sexy look you are sure to love. Convertibles What is better than one choker? One choker that turns into three unique looks! We are absolutely loving this trend of convertible pieces. A pair of drop earrings may convert from a short daytime look to a long, elegant evening style. Not only do these pieces make your accessory selection double, but are incredibly practical for those weekend getaways and trans-continental trips.

Top 10 Wedding Ring Engraving Ideas that Express Your Love
Engraving a special message inside of yours and your partner’s wedding bands is a lovely way to add sentimental value. Some jewelers only offer machine engraving, while others will also have hand engraving performed by skilled craftsmen. On average, machine engraving is more affordable being around $30 for 15 characters. Hand engraving adds a special touch and is usually a bit more expensive, around $75 for 8 characters. Before you consider engraving your wedding bands, you should be absolutely sure of a few things. SIZING: First, it’s important to make sure the ring fits the person perfectly. Resizing after you have the engraving done will often ruin or distort the message. WIDTH: Second, you will have to consider whether your band is thick enough for the engraving. In general, your ring should be 4-7mm for the best inscription. Any less than this and your jeweler will likely be unable to accept it. FUTURE: Also, keep in mind that engraving your jewelry could make it more difficult to re-sell down the road if you would like to. Simple, Romantic Phrases Choose an engraving that is simple and straightforward representing your love for each other. If you have cute nicknames for each other, you might also incorporate them. Here are a few sentimental ideas: I Love You Always Ever Thine To Have and to Hold Beloved Yours Forever Always Faithful Forever and a Day To Infinity… Eternally To the Moon and Back To be with you, that’s all I want Coordinates Commemorate a special place that is meaningful to your relationship and inscribe its coordinates. Perhaps it is the city you met in or a small town where you owned your first home together. Some different formats you could choose are traditional or roman numeral, shown below: 25.27° N, 80.08° W vs. XXVI° N, LXXX° W Foreign Language There is a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ about romance in a foreign language. Whether it has a personal significance to you, your heritage, or a place you once traveled to—it can be a beautiful way to portray your love. Here are some ideas: Per sempre tua Forever yours Italian Tesoro mio My treasure Italian Sei la mia vita You are my life Italian Un millione di baci A million kisses Italian Je t’adore I adore you French Pour tous jours For all days French Mon Coeur est a vous You have my heart French Veni. Vedi. Amavi. We came. We saw. We loved. Latin Eres mi todo You are my everything Spanish άπειρη αγάπη Infinite love Greek η δύναμή μου My strength Greek Hai shi shan meng Promise of eternal love Chinese Imprints Rather than words and numbers, you could choose to engrave something like each other’s finger print on the partner’s ring, symbolizing that you are always close together. If you have children together, you both could have an imprint of your child’s finger print as an alternative. Keep in mind that this option may be pricier as it will require precision and specialized machinery. Short Quotes Who can put love into words better than famous poets and novelists such as Keats, Voltaire, and Oscar Wilde? Inscribe the inside of your band with a heartfelt, classic quote such as one of these: “I cannot exist without you.” – John Keats “Romance is everything.” – Gertrude Stein “Who, being loved, is poor?” – Oscar Wilde “Da mi basia mille.” – Catullus Religious Verses If you share religious values, you may choose a meaningful verse to engrave on your rings. Here are a few examples you may choose: Micah 6:8: This is what the Lord requires of you: Do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with your God. Corinthians 16:14: “Do everything in love.” Song of Solomon 1:2: “Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.” Dates Significant dates are a popular choice for wedding ring engravings. Engrave your wedding date, the day you met, or your engagement date as a simple and meaningful message. Not to mention, your significant other will never have an excuse to forget your anniversary! You could choose to do this in several different formats: 6.29.2017 Simple 6/29/2017 Traditional June 29, 2017 Long VI.XXIX.MMXVII Roman Numeral A Handwritten Message For a truly unique engraving, find a jeweler who can take your personal handwriting and translate it to an engraving. All you have to do is write the phrase on white paper with a fine-tip black marker or pen, scan the image to your computer, and send it to the jeweler. Symbols There are several types of symbols you could choose to engrave on your rings. Symbols are a great option because they are so short, given the limited space on the inside of your band. Here are a few ideas of symbols and their meanings: Lotus Flower Rising from a dark place into beauty and rebirth Dove Infinite capacity the heart has for love Seashell Protectiveness of love Celtic Knot Eternal love; has no beginning or end Silly Phrases If you and your partner share a love of laughter, you may consider writing something silly on the inside of the band. It’s the perfect way to always keep them smiling when they occasionally see it. Here are a few funny ideas: No refunds Put me back on Finders Keepers What Happened in Vegas… My Wife is Hot My Husband is Hot
